Today is Black Friday in the U.S. and the other parts of the world that takes everything the United States does as gospel. Black Friday is a day to score deals while trying not to get stabbed by an envious co-shopper who is eyeing the Samsung television you are about to grab, but we are not going to talk about that today. We do things differently here, we don’t follow the crowd. Our Black Friday takes a different twist.
Fashion is something that always changes, it is never constant, and in this year alone we have seen so many different movements in the industry. One of the main ones which is the current trend, is full black attire. I have always been a fan of fully black or plain dressing before it became the in-thing, so it is not about trends, but this resurgence in this Gothic look is something I love.
Black or plain colors such as white, offers so much to be noticed when you are wearing it. It accentuates curves, it enhances your complexion, and just gives you an edge that you can’t get wearing any other color.
Black used to and still is a color that signals mourning, sadness and melancholy, so does this rise in the trend means that the world has become cold, dark, sad, desolate or does it mean that we have reached a point in fashion where colors are meaningless?
I have never only seen black as a dark and eerie color, the one they place in movies to scare the hell out of you, but simply as just another way to make an outfit seem different, a color that puts you on a whole other level compared to your “stylish” subordinates. Also, black makes any other color pop. Have you ever worn a full black ensemble with a dash of color, maybe some blue or white Jordans, or a pair of red Converse? It is definitely makes that shyt rock.
So as we celebrate a different type of Black Friday here at DatsMaStyle, what are your thoughts on this color being the go-to shade nowadays? Hit us up in the comments below.
